Step Into Christmas!!

We are so happy to be celebrating the 1st of December! BabyGirl has been counting down the days until she could start her advent tree. She woke up so excited because today was the big day!! We put up our decorations the day after Thanksgiving like we always do. Here she is with her little tree, all lit up and decorated for the holidays!! Yesterday we went to the mall with our cousins for the annual Santa picture. They all did so wonderful, and not one tear was shed...even by little Miss Laurel! Aubrey made Santa a beautiful picture that she gave him right when they met. The picture-giving was promptly followed by "So....are you ready for me to tell you what I'd like this year?" :)
This year they have a snow machine that is set up on a timer. The kids were completely taken with this concept and couldn't get enough of playing in the snow!!
We were able to get alot of shopping done while visiting the mall. We finished buying for both Bub's and our bestie. By far, BabyGirl's favorite buy was a Gryffindor necklace she found on clearance at Hot Topic for $1.98!! Woo Hoo! :)

We had a marvelous Thanksgiving. It was spent with our family having the most delicious feast! Everything was beautiful and went off without a hitch. We did miss Nan, Pop and Bub's though....we look forward to being able to spend Christmas with them.
We celebrated the end of our first co-op session by having an open house! Each child was able to display everything they created on their own table.

They were able to tell family and friends all about it!

They each gave a speech. BabyGirl decided to recite the poem "My Beard" by Shel Silverstein.

The students performed their Spanish colors song.

They each received a certificate of completion.

We had a fabulous time with co-op and look forward to many, many more!

This week we are getting back on track after a break last week. We are continuing our study of Mexico, diving into their holidays including Day of the Dead, Christmas and Independence Day. For math, we are still working with different forms of measurement. For science, we are continuing our study of weather by relating it to the seasons. We made a seasons wheel today, and have several other experiments using temperature, sunlight, and the seasons throughout the week. On Thursday we have our next art lesson. This time it will be about shapes, and how they manifest themselves in art. We look forward to a very busy and wonderful month. This is our favorite time of year!!!!
